[2020-01-21] Terminal in the port of Luanda receives proposals from companies in Angola and abroad

The international public tender to grant the management of the multipurpose terminal in the port of Luanda has already attracted proposals from some of the largest companies in the sector in Angola, China, Dubai, the United States, France, Switzerland and Colombia, announced state company Porto de Luanda.

The terms of the tender, which was launched by the government of Angola on 16 December 2019, establishes that the interested parties have until 30 March 2020 to submit a proposal.

The Public tender is targeted at domestic and foreign companies or associations that have proven experience in the port sector or that meet the requirements stipulated in the programme, the specifications and the legislation in force.

The companies interested in participating in the tender will be required to prove they have paid-up capital of no less than US$25 million and an average annual turnover in the last three years of no less than the equivalent of US$100 million.

The Multipurpose Terminal of the Port of Luanda is a port facility for both general cargo and containers, has a 610-metre quay, a depth of 12.5 metres and an area of 181,000 square metres with capacity to handle 2.6 million tonnes of cargo per year.
