Angola and China on Thursday in Luanda are scheduled to sign the Verbal Process, a document that establishes the guidelines for the reinforcement of economic, technical and trade cooperation, during a meeting of the Angola-China Joint Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation, said the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministerial statement also said that the sixth session of the Angola-China Joint Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation will be co-chaired by Domingos Vieira Lopes, Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, and by the Chinese Deputy Minister of Trade, Qian Keming.

The delegations of the two countries will assess the state of bilateral cooperation, schedule the dates for the second session of the Steering Committee, as well as the seventh session of the Joint Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation, which will be held in China.

The document notes that, at an economic and business level, the meeting will also encourage entrepreneurs from both countries to expand industrial cooperation, particularly in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, in the context of private investment, as well as to promote cooperation at a provincial and municipal level.

Delegations will also consider the joint implementation of the economic and trade measures under the memorandum of understanding on the interconnection of Angola’s National Development Plan (PND) 2018-2022 and the “Eight Actions” of the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.
