Angola will be represented at the 1st China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, to be held from 27 to 29 June in Changsha, capital of China’s Hunan province, with a delegation of more than 100 exhibitors, Jornal de Angola reported.

The delegation left Luanda on Saturday, with the executive coordinator of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, Adulai Baldé, saying that Angola will be represented in a pavilion where the agriculture sector is more prominent, due to a larger number of exhibitors.

The delegation has 103 members representing the national production sector in areas such as mineral resources, tourism, industry, agriculture, services and infrastructure, and Baldé said, “we have a pavilion where we will exhibit all our products.”

Cabo Verde will also be represented at the exhibition, with the archipelago’s delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Olavo Correia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities, Luís Filipe, who will be in China from 23 to 29 June.

The information was given to the Inforpress news agency by the Chinese ambassador to Cabo Verde, Du Xiaocong and confirmed by China-Cabo Verde cooperation officer Joaquim Maia, following a meeting with the beneficiaries of the seminars promoted by the Chinese Ministry of Trade and Training Centre.

The event has already confirmed the participation of 1,388 exhibitors from 52 countries, and over seven days 233 cooperation in investment, trade, engineering, acquisition and construction projects are expected to be negotiated.

The total value of these projects is US$74.7 billion and they involve 39 countries including Ghana, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire, according to the organising commission.
