[2019-04-25] Grove Hydrogen Automotive produces hydrogen-powered vehicles in Brazil

Chinese company Grove Hydrogen Automotive will produce hydrogen-powered vehicles for Brazil under a cooperation agreement signed with the Minas Gerais state government, the company said in a statement.

The cooperation agreement establishes that both signatories will cooperate to introduce the Hydrogen Economy to Brazil and South America “through the specific advantages of the state of Minas Gerais and the advanced technologies of Grove.”

The chief executive and founder of the company, Hao Yiguo, said in the statement that Grove Hydrogen Automotive in the government of the Brazilian state had found the ideal partner and place to produce “green” cars, “similar to what we already do in China.”

The company made use of the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition to introduce two hydrogen-powered vehicles, the Granite and Obsidian models.

Grove Hydrogen Automotive has announced that the two cars are expected to begin testing by the end of the year and that production should begin a year later at the end of 2020.

The superintendent of Attraction of Enterprises and Foreign Trade of the Secretariat of Economic Development of Minas Gerais, Eduardo Brito, recalled in the statement that the agreement now reached with Grove Hydrogen Automotive deepens the already extensive cooperation between Brazil and China.
