The Angolan government, through the Ministry of Economy and Planning, is holding Monday in Luanda the first of a series of lectures on “Measures to Support National Production Increase” in order to reduce imports and increase exports, according to official information.

After the capital, there will be regional lectures in the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Bié, Moxico, Huíla, Uíge and Cabinda, with local business associations, with a view to collecting subsidies and informing the steps that are being taken to improve the environment. competitiveness of domestic production.

The speech of Luanda will include interventions by the Ministers of Economy and Planning, Agriculture and Forestry, Fisheries and the Sea, Industry, Tourism, Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Finance, Justice and Human Rights, Commerce, Spatial Planning and Housing, Interior, Energy and Water, Construction and Public Works, Environment and Health, as well as the governor of the National Bank of Angola.

Following the regional talks, Luanda hosts the national conference on measures to support domestic production next March, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

The initiative follows the adoption on 13 November 2018 by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers of the Action Plan to increase the competitiveness of national production of basic and other priority national goods.

The action plan resulted from a proposal from the heads of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Finance, Agriculture and Forestry, Fisheries and the Sea, Industry, Commerce and Health, as well as the governor of the National Bank of Angola.

The plan details proposals for actions that can be implemented in the production lines of 46 products, with the aim of accelerating private initiatives under the National Production Support, Import Substitution and Export Promotion Program (Prodesi) in the short, medium and long term, to increase production in the country.
