[2019/07/28] Exhibitors Recognise MFE’s Role as a Platform

As an annual event for the international franchising industry, the “Macao Franchise Expo” (MFE) has been held for 11 years in a row. 61 business matching sessions took place in the Business Matching Area on the second day of the 2019MFE. Exhibitors participating in the event reported gratifying results of improving their businesses.

In order to showcase innovative retail experiences, provide support for small and medium-sized enterprises regarding business operations, and inspire enterprises, the 2019MFE sets up the “New Retail and Business Support Zone”, which showcases various services including e-payment, cross-border e-commerce, financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, smart retailing, cloud platform, design and public relations, which are the means for participants to optimise operating costs and enhance publicity and business growth. Mr Lei, General Manager of M-Store, noted that M-Store participated in the 2019MFE with an aim to promote the electronic platform and its screens. He relayed that his products had already drawn attention of merchants from Mainland China and Hong, which was what he expected.

The newly added “Special Brands Area” brings together a great number of branded enterprises subordinate to time-honored brands in Guangdong and Macao, together with local featured brands. These brands utilise the event to promote their businesses. Mr. Yang, CEO of an instant food manufacturing company in Guangzhou, said that his company is a time-honored one in Guangzhou. It was founded in 1926 and the company currently mainly engages in producing instant congee and rice. Its products are sold in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States and Canada. It is the company’s first time participating in a fair in Macao, attempting to acquaint itself with Macao’s market. He expressed his intention to participate in the next year’s MFE and “Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair” (GMBPF), which would surely yield better results when being concurrently held.

Additionally, this year’s MFE has also introduced the “Renowned Brands Zone”, which is joined by prominent exhibitors from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. Such an occasion provides all participants with the opportunities to seek suitable franchise brands for collaboration. Ms Loi, Assistant Manager of a chain coffee shop in Hong Kong, remarked that it was the first time for the company to participate in the MFE, one of the largest fairs in Macao. This year’s MFE contains more elements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road, which are the target markets of the company. She hoped to increase the brand’s exposure and make more people aware of this brand. She added, the company has the intention of expanding its businesses in Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, and other Southeast Asian countries, and it received many trade visitors from the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia during the fair. As the results met their expectations, the company plans to join the next year’s fair if possible.

Tomorrow is the last day of the 2019MFE, and it continues to be open to the public. In order to encourage the public to use environmentally friendly public transportation, 4 bus routes between the Venetian Macao and Northern District, Central District and Taipa Village are offered, with pick-up points set at Rua do Dr. Pedro José Lobo (The Macau Square), Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida (near Rua Gago Coutinho, Pak Wai Bus Station), Rua do Mercado de lao Hon (Opposite to Jardim de Iao Hon, near the ISQUARE Computer Plaza), and Rua de Seng Tou (near Urbanização Jardim Nova Taipa Block 21). Free parking areas offered in Halls D and E on a first come, first served basis due to limited availability. Free Wi-Fi is available on site.
