Portuguese, Macao organisations to fund marine research

The Macao Science and Technology Development Fund and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology have begun accepting applications for funding for scientific and technological research projects to be undertaken jointly by researchers in Macao and Portugal.

The Fund and the Foundation together issued a written announcement saying applications for funding for marine research, including research into marine pollution and marine biotechnology, must be submitted by July 26.

The two entities will offer a total of US$710,000, which includes MOP 3,000,000 (US$372,000) by the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund that will be handed out each year for research projects lasting no longer than three years. The Macao Science and Technology Development Fund and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology will grant the fund respectively to eligible projects carried out in Macao and Portugal.



Economic Bureau rolls out the “Professional Consultation Services Exchange Programme” to intensify co-operation in innovation-driven start-ups of GBA youths

In order to effectively carry out the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, reinforce the support for Macao youths to start businesses in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Economic Bureau launched the “Professional Consultation Services Exchange Programme” on 6 June, allowing the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre to effectively collaborate with relevant incubation entities in GBA, and jointly provide start-ups professional consultation services in terms of local law, accounting and taxation in the region. The Programme aims at ensuring that Macao start-ups are supported by professional and reliable services while they are launching and developing their businesses in the GBA.

Facilitation Services for Commercial Registration in Nine Cities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

In order to encourage Macao enterprises to invest in cities in the Greater Bay Area by optimising the commercial registration procedures of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for Macao enterprises, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) inked an co-operation agreement with the Guangdong Market Supervision & Administration Bureau to roll out the Facilitation Services for Commercial Registration in Nine Cities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which assist Macao enterprises and citizens in completing commercial registration for investing or starting up business in the nine Mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing.

   
 
 
   

Online Business Matching Service Platform

Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute’s (IPIM) brand new Online Business Matching Service Platform is now available for local and overseas entrepreneurs to enjoy self-service business matching and expand their markets.

Through this open-source platform, registered users will be able to participate in the business matching sessions in the exhibitions and events organised by IPIM. Furthermore, users will be able to advertise or search for collaboration projects, screen for preferable projects, and pre-arrange meetings with interested parties and generate a preliminary meetings schedule.

Success Story

Digital Bay Limited

With the assistance of IPIM’s Investor’s “One-stop Service”, Macao young entrepreneurs established Digital Bay Limited in June 2018. The company provides digital project design and development, digital marketing solutions, data analysis and strategy consultancy.

By making good use of the advantage of IPIM’s as a business-promoting platform, the investor has, via IPIM’s “Online Business Matching Service Platform”, successfully reached co-operation agreements with local gaming enterprise at an SME procurement event in November 2018. The company also launched e-payment solutions for the Macao Water and digital membership card for local supermarkets in just one year of opening.
