Small and Medium Enterprises Service Centre (SMEC) –Take Service as a fundamental and SME as a Priority

In order to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and assist them to grasp the opportunities brought about by Macao's economic development and in accordance with Macao government policies to support SMEs, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will launch a series of services to assist local SMEs, which includes the setting-up of the Small and Medium Enterprises Service Centre (SMEC) in the Macao Business Support Centre (MBSC). SMEC will help local SMEs to develop overseas and local markets and provide exchanges between enterprises and co-operation in accordance with overseas and local market demands. Thus, it will give Macao's SMEs guidance to grasp the business opportunities brought about by the service, conventions and exhibition industries.

 

A Comprehensive One-stop Service

Through a series of tailor made services offered by the SMEC to local SMEs, the hardware and various venues provided by MBSC, as well as IPIM's promotional networks enabling a multi-faceted one-stop-service for Macao's SMEs to assist them in handling business enquiries, giving free rein to enormous potential and exploring new markets.

 

Multi-faceted facilities and services - Constructing a SME Economic Co-operation Platform
  • One-stop Service for Macao Economic and Trade Consultation (includes information on Investment Environment, Business Opportunities and Business Matching)
    Through the co-ordination mechanism between government departments, SMEC will provide a consultation service to SMEs to deal with the administrative procedures needed in setting up a company in Macao, supply advice on the investment environment, assist in the search for business opportunities and look for suitable partnerships, as well as a consultation service on  Macao's economy and trade.

  • Mainland China Business Advisory Service
    In order to better serve the needs of local SMEs the China Business Advisory Service will assist by handling business enquiries about Mainland China, helping them to gain access to the market and grasp the opportunities derived from CEPA.

  • SME's Consultation Scheme (includes Credit Guarantee Scheme)
    Representatives from Macao Economic Services will deal with all enquiries and provide a referral service on the three  SMEs consultation schemes namely "SMEs Credit Guarantee Scheme", "SMEs  Credit Guarantee Designated for Special " and "SMEs Aid Scheme", thus creating a wide spectrum of financial schemes for SMEs to tap business opportunities.

  • Assisting in the participation of economic and trade fairs (includes information on Local and Global Fairs and Exhibitions)
    In addition to the economic and trade information from around the world (especially Mainland China, the European Union and Portuguese Speaking countries), the “Fair and Exhibition Area” in the "SMEC" will gather information on fair and exhibition events which will be available for reference, therefore allowing SMEs to attend more international fairs and exhibitions.

  • Assisting in Fair and Exhibitions Events held in Macao
    For economic and trade events held in Macao, the support measures for organisers/enterprises holding fairs and exhibitions in Macao includes the following: information on organising fairs and exhibitions, administrative procedures, promotional activities, attracting enterprises and providing financial subsidies for participation in fairs and exhibitions.

  • Application for convention and exhibition activities organised by IPIM
    Provides an information service on international exhibitions and conferences, processes applications for those wishing to participate in exhibitions, IPIM business delegations and subsidies for local and overseas exhibitions.

  • Application for financial incentives provided to SMEs allowing them to participate in exhibition activities
    To encourage SMEs to actively participate in international exhibitions and conferences, subsidies as well as assistance in applications will be provided to SMEs to enable them to utilise the advantage of Macao’s regional platform to explore overseas markets and seize business opportunities brought about by the convention and exhibition industry.

  • Application for the special package provided to local SMEs for business promotion
    Provide promotional and publicity services for local SMEs through Macao Trade and Invest Kiosk, provide enquiry services and receive applications, assist SMEs to liaise and extend their market networks.

  • Organise workshop, business and information exchange activities
    To enhance the competitiveness of local SMEs, SMEC will organise workshops, business meetings and other information exchange activities from time to time to promote the development of SMEs.
