Design of the site was inspired by the microcosm of the city, interlinking Sino-Portuguese characteristics with stylised furnishing, “Macao Ideas” will exhibit a wide range of Macao Products, aimed at creating a direct communication with buyers from abroad, along with corresponding advertising campaigns overseas, to capture buyers´ interest and to build a direct channel of communication with overseas buyers, so as to develop business opportunities abroad.

LET US EXHIBIT YOUR MERCHANDISE IN A PRIME LOCATION, WITH LARGE FLOW OF VISITORS AND BUSINESSPEOPLE
“Macao Ideas” is located on the ground-floor Exhibition Hall of the Tourism Activities Centre (“CAT”). The Macao Wine Museum and the Grand Prix Museum are both located in the same building. It is therefore an ideal location, integrating conference and exhibition facilities, with a large flow of visitors.

OUR STAFF IS ALWAYS ON HAND, TO ACT AS YOUR INTERMEDIARY
Furthermore, “Macao Ideas” will also provide professional business matching services at the venue to help local enterprises to advertise and promote their products, enhance visibility and add value to Macao´s high-quality merchandise, which will bring business opportunities to local producers in overseas markets as a result of such worldwide promotion.

MACAO ENTERPRISES ARE INVITED TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN EXHIBITED COLLECTION
Preparatory work is underway for the setting-up of “Macao Ideas”. Local enterprises are invited to join the project, by providing “Made in Macao”, “Macao Brand” “Design in Macao” and “Sole Distributorship of Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products” items for exhibition, thus contributing towards the development of new business opportunities for Macao.

DATE FOR THE COLLECTION OF PRODUCTS:
As from the date hereof until 4 March, 2011.

TYPES OF PRODUCTS THAT ON DISPLAY:
1. “Made in Macao” products
This type of products should especially focus on the fact that they are made in Macao, essentially to promote the quality, production capacity and technological know-how of the local producer or factory, so as to capture the buying desire of the individual and/or professional buyers. It is suggested that enterprises applying for display of their “Made in Macao” products submit their products along with information that focus on the promotion of name of the factory, its history and scale. “Made in Macao” products will be on display in a special area known as “M in M” or in other exhibition areas with Macao characteristics.

2. “Macao Brands”
“Macao Brands” shall mean goods made in or outside Macao by local enterprises. The related products should compulsorily consist of brands registered by Macao enterprises (i.e., companies with sales outlets or administrative offices in Macao, engaged in trading). Evidences of respective trade-mark registration should be produced. Furthermore, sale of these “Macao Brand” products should provide employment opportunities to Macao residents or increase the income derived from trade finance, logistic business or taxes for Macao, and should not merely be production projects set-up by Macao residents abroad. Enterprises displaying “Macao Brand” products are recommended to concentrate on the promotion of the brand of the series of products involved, as well as the market positioning and the image of the brand that it intends to promote. In addition, certain well-known series of products may also be considered as “Macao Brand” products.

3. Designed in Macao
Both actual products and model of products designed in Macao will be accepted. The applicant can either be an enterprise or an individual designer, provided that it is a Macao resident. The main purpose is to show the designer´s creativity and ability to attract buyers to purchase their products in large quantity, or to utilize their patent through various forms of cooperation, namely franchising or licensing, for subsequent manufacturing purpose. Furthermore, designs that are still in the model stage may also be on display to obtain manufacturers´ feedback.

4. Sole Distributorship of Portuguese-Speaking Countries products
The applicant for display of products originated from the Portuguese-Speaking Countries should have already entered into sole distributorship agreement for branded products or other products from these countries, or produce proof of exclusive distribution of these products in Macao, so as to avoid the occurrence of a situation where different companies apply for the exhibition of the same product. The purpose for the exhibition of Portuguese-Speaking Countries products is to attract buyers from outside Macao, in order to promote Macao´s role as a trading platform for the Portuguese-Speaking Countries while giving incentive to the local enterprises to act as trading intermediary.
