Cabo Verde TradeInvest is working on a directory of companies and service providers, in order to disseminate the national market quickly to investors and exporters, the chairman of the Board of Directors said on Wednesday in Praia.

Ana Barbier, who was speaking during a meeting on exporting to the United States market under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), to provide more information, said that Cabo Verde Trade Invest has been working with institutions and economic operators so that the country can achieve and boost its exports to the United States.

She added that a number of activities are planned for 2018, including the development and implementation of an export strategy through the training programme for exporters and potential exporters, trade documentation, trade negotiations and participation in international events.

“Improving the competitiveness of Cape Verdean exports, preparing the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) export manual, promoting exports and helping Cape Verdean companies to develop their regional and international business are our purposes,” said the chair of Cabo Verde Trade Invest, quoted by the Inforpress news agency.

Barbier also mentioned the International Business Centre, “which is already regulated” and which will start to grant competitive tax benefits to the various sectors, such as industry, trade and services, creating a new dynamic for the export of goods and services “Made in Cabo Verde.”
